      <abstract>
        <p>The present study was carried out to check the presence of flavonoid in the stem of Maytenus senegalensis by using microscopic technique. It revealed the presence of flavonoid in stem by using histochemical tests. This study is helpful in the process of quality control and authentication of the plant in the taxonomy and for scientific classification.</p>
